Well this weekend has been busy. A little busier than normal, which is why I’m just getting around to posting on a Monday. But the busier weekend and my odd “other duties as they arise” lifestyle got me thinking about all of my “weekend looks” this past weekend and how they change from weekend to weekend.

Last weekend was pleasantly busy with a short gig Friday night, a coffee meeting Saturday afternoon followed by dinner with some old friends and then trying out a new brunch spot with my bestie on Sunday.  So last weekend was cute springtime looks: blouses, dressy tank tops and shorts…accessories were also welcomed. This weekend was a little different.

This weekend was mostly a working weekend, so I didn’t have much say over my wardrobe. I’ll get into the interesting side gig I have acquired in a later post, but it’s safe to say, wardrobe is a big part of the gig.

So let’s see….Friday night: This was a new company, and they were rather specific about the wardrobe. They sent you a t-shirt (which is pretty standard), but they also sent you a Youtube link in which to learn how to knot the shirt to their liking, making it more like a crop top (why they didn’t just get crop tops, I do not know) Anyways, moving on….shoes: white Converses. They specified high tops, but at that point, they were going to get what they get. I mean, I’m not working in order to buy the shoes to wear to work for you. Pants: leather pants….what? They got some rather comfortable pleather leggings from me. (like really?) All of this topped off (quite literally) with light-up devil horns. See picture because it definitely happened. So that was Friday, and that particular gig was something else. More to come on that as well.

Saturday.  Saturday was a back to back day (it wasn’t supposed to be, but I, apparently, have a problem with the word “no” :p). Also, it was at a beach about an hour away from me, so since I was going anyways, I might as well throw on another gig one. Right? First gig of the day was at a small Podunk beach bar.  Wardrobe for this one was nothing special: a branded light blue tank top, jean shorts and white tennis shoes. They had previously told us flip flops, which I purchased for the occasion, but the night before changed it to white tennis shoes…whatever. I live in Florida, I’m bound to need flip flops this summer anyways.

A couple hours after I arrived at location #1, it was time to head to location #2, which means another change of wardrobe. I was able to keep the jeans and shoes, but this time I was meeting counterparts I would be working with, so they told us all to wear black tank tops so we would match. I did the change in the car, freshened up my makeup, grabbed some caffeine and was on my way. Upon arrival, we were supplied with yet another branded tank top (dark blue this time). Cue wardrobe change.

Sunday was a different story. Not a working day…thank God, but photoshoot day! I have a friend who’s a photographer and he wanted to do a very stylized shoot, and I was definitely game. A few days before, we were going over wardrobe for the shoot and I asked him the question I ask before every shoot, “Do you want fancy hair?” He gave me a look and his wife, my best friend, started laughing. He knows I hate doing my hair. I reassured him: “I’ve already prepared myself, just give it to me straight.” We settled on straight hair, which does take a while but not nearly as long as the curly hair he usually wants, but he threw in a smokey eye. So now, hair and a new makeup thing I’ve never done. Sunday morning consisted of watching Youtube videos to figure out what I needed. A quick trip to Ulta and then the work began. (Before and after shots included)

I finished all that, threw all the black clothes he wanted in a bag along with the straightener and makeup for touch-ups and was on my way (only like 15 minutes late). There were several different looks for this shoot, first up: a black leotard, black tights, and black heels. We played with adding hats and jackets on that base. Second look was a black jumpsuit with heels. And the last look of the day was very superhero-ish. It was a preview for a film project we will be working on at a later date. So that one was purple tights, purple heels, a navy leotard and purple arm sleeves. Then back to my gym shorts and tank top I arrived in. :p I’ll be sure to share some of the final pictures from the shoot once he finishes them.

So there was a lot of change or “changing” this weekend. Today was back to my “regularly” scheduled programming…more work. Back in the office today, but yay for no fancy hair! What did your weekend looks consist of?

Thanks for reading!

Much love,
