So what are we doing here?

Don’t worry….this is not about an existential crisis or relating to the bigger question: “Why are we all here?” But specifically, why are YOU here? On my blog page? Well first of all, I’m so happy you are and thank you again. 

I guess I haven’t properly introduced myself. My name is Brittney. I’m single. I’m 32. I work full-time and then I work some more (so many side gigs, I don’t know where I’m going or who I’m even working for half the time). I’m an actress. I’ve done theatre for years and have ventured more into the world of film the last few years. I, apparently, dabble in writing (or am trying to…how’s it going?). I also just started learning sign language. It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn, and it was a goal to start this year, so I did just a couple weeks ago; and I’m kind of proud of myself for at least starting.

I prioritize healthy living the best I can on a tight budget and an even tighter schedule. I have PCOS, so I’m on an every-changing health journey to see what works best for me and my body. (i.e. diet, supplements and fitness routines). I feel like I have tried it all…except maybe eliminate dairy. And yes, I know that is one of the first things they tell you with PCOS, but…cheese. And yes, that is next on the list. We’ll see how that goes. Come along for the journey with me? I mean, how hard is 30 days? Does chocolate have dairy? Oh just a minute now! Okay. Okay. We’re good. Or I should be good with dark chocolate. Anyways, I’d love to share some of the tips and tricks I’ve adopted over the years, and maybe you can offer some suggestions as well. 

My mom lives close, and she is the only local family I have, but I have lots of friends who I consider family. I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew who I would do anything for and they know it, so we may be in dangerous territory. While they are not my nieces or nephew by blood, I am the only local extended family they have, so you better believe I make it a point to be at every graduation, party or school performance I can.  I absolutely love being able to spoil them to no end and then send them home. :p 

So, not to just list out a whole bunch of random things about myself, but I did want to give you an idea of who I am, some of what I’ll be writing about, and why I am writing. I’m hoping to make this a discussion. I’d love to hear from you. We’re all just trying to get through life and I’m hoping to building a community of people who want to help each other do just that with a little humor, friendship and love. How does that sound?
